IMPORTANT PROGRAM NOTICES
NOTICE: PPL has their last date of service with the Massachusetts PDP Program on 12/21/2024. This program will be moved to another fiscal management agency, Acumen, effective 12/22/2024. You have received a letter regarding filling out paperwork for the new fiscal management agency. To ensure there is no disruption in services, you will need to complete the paperwork with Acumen by 12/2/2024. Please click here for who to call with questions and final service dates.
Please note as of 7/31/23 our PPL Customer Service email address has changed to PPLMA_Autism@pplfirst.com.

Overview
The Participant-direction program serves participants throughout Massachusetts who are eligible for services through the Department of Developmental Services. People who choose the Participant-direction program can take more control over their care.
If you qualify, you will be able to:
Participants can
Work with your case manager to develop a care plan that meets your needs and goals and change your plan if your needs change.
Select services and support to meet your needs.
Work with a support broker to develop a budget.
Find, hire, manage, and dismiss your careworkers.
Use BetterOnline to monitor your careworker’s hours and spending.
Use BetterOnline or Time4Care to review, approve, and submit your careworker’s timesheets.
Services include
Payroll – We process payroll for your careworker using money from your budget.
Employment tax requirements – We handle all employment-related taxes for you, including federal, state, local, and unemployment.
Monthly budget management – We help you keep your spending on track.
Enrollment support – We help you and your careworker with enrollment and training through your enrollment specialist,
Customer service – Our friendly and professional customer service agents are available five days a week to help you with any questions.
Service reports – With our reports you’ll always have a clear picture of the services you’ve received.
