CDPAP Consumer Elena is featured in an Op-Ed with BK Reader, “The Consumer Directed Personal Assistance Program allowed me to be compensated for taking care of my mother with Medicaid dollars, giving me an income, peace of mind, and a sense of stability.”
Caring for a parent is personal. For Elena, it’s also full-time work—work she’s grateful to be able to do for her mother, in their own home, in their own language. A year after the CDPAP transition, she says the support has only gotten stronger, thanks in part to her facilitator, Ever Care NY.
