Important Changes to PPL Benefits Effective May 1, 2026
Open Enrollment: April 15 – May 15, 2026
PPL is making some updates to Personal Assistant benefits. These changes apply across the program, but how they affect you depends on your current coverage and work status.

What’s changing starting May 1, 2026
These updates apply across CDPAP, but how they affect you may vary.
- New benefits support partner
PPL is now working with GSA National, a benefit administration company that helps answer benefits questions and supports enrollment for hourly and part-time workforces. - New optional insurance coverage
PAs can choose new, employee-paid insurance coverage offered by Chubb, including:- Accident Insurance: Receive a lump-sum cash payout if you experience a covered accident. You can use the payout any way you wish.
- Critical Illness Insurance: Receive a lump-sum cash payout if you are diagnosed with a covered critical illness. You can use the payout any way you wish.
- Voluntary Life Insurance: Get added financial protection for your loved ones in the event of your death.
- PAs working for consumers in New York City or Westchester, Nassau, or Suffolk counties can also enroll in a NYC Transit Plan.
- Minimum Essential Coverage (MEC) and FLEX are ending
For employees currently enrolled in MEC and FLEX, this coverage will end on April 30, 2026.

- I am a full-time personal assistant (working more than 130 hours per month).
- I am not currently enrolled in a PPL health plan (I currently have MEC or FLEX).
- I serve a consumer in one of these counties: Bronx, New York, Kings, Queens, Richmond, Nassau, Suffolk, or Westchester.
- I am a part-time personal assistant (working less than 130 hours per month).
- I serve a consumer in one of these counties: Bronx, New York, Kings, Queens, Richmond, Nassau, Suffolk, or Westchester.
- I am a full-time personal assistant (working more than 130 hours per month).
- I do not serve a consumer living in one of these counties: Bronx, New York, Kings, Queens, Richmond, Nassau, Suffolk, or Westchester.
- I am a part-time personal assistant (working less than 130 hours per month).
- I do not serve a consumer in one of these counties: Bronx, New York, Kings, Queens, Richmond, Nassau, Suffolk, or Westchester.
